Main Street Methodist Church

The Methodist church in Bay St. Louis was lucky in many respects. You see here the main damage--the steeple.

One story about this has been shared with us--apparently, the steeple was dumped by the storm in the street, and when someone came along to remove it, a man came out and said "Do NOT touch that steeple!"and he whipped out his gun to add emphasis to his statement. Obviously, the steeple did get moved, but back to the front yard of the church. The sign in front of it says "Do Not Remove Steeple", and the back of the sign says "or we'll shoot".
