Hi Mom! Camp is fun!

It dawned on me last night that we are at a church camp for adults. So it seems at times, and this is a good thing. We are meshing very well together, very quickly. We are housed in two buildings: the Sanctuary building, and a detached Education building. We eat in the main hall of the education building, which has a spacious kitchen attached to it. On the opposite side of the hall is a stage, which is doubling right now as my bedroom. I have ostrasized myself in the name of keeping peace because my children tell me that I snore loud enough to wake the dead. Last night, I also woke myself up numerous times.
We have shower facilities, which for the women is rather decent. The bathrooms are spotless. There are also outdoor showers that I have not had the, um, pleasure of enjoying.
Conditions for us are better than I had expected, but maybe a little tough for those who had not spent much of their lives "roughing it." But you'll have to ask them. I, for one, am very pleased.
Last night at dinner we sang the Doxology, and immediately chills went down my back. In incredible 4-part, maybe 6-part harmony, 22 people of several denominations and generations joined together in the most beautiful singing I've experienced outside of a formal choir. It was a God Moment, to be sure.
If you look through people's bios (and I have a few more to put up), you'll see that we are a musical bunch. We are strangely missing first sopranos, and one could muse on that fact for a little while... But although we might sing in a slightly lower register, we do sing very well, thank you!
We are having "choir practice" tonight, and I hope to have audio software loaded and working well enough to record snippets.
A word about food and our cooks. Wonderful! Karen and Amy, our Camp Moms, are being helped by several (I wasn't surprised to find Paul there in the kitchen last night), and so far the effort is accomplishing the goal of making us feel right at home.
