The Lamp Lighters blog highlights and shares the experiences of a group of Connecticut volunteers serving in mission in Mississippi January 18-28, 2006. Group leader Rev. Mel Kawakami of the Simsbury (CT) United Methodist Church organized a diverse group of 22 members of his and several other churches and denominations to serve in this mission of rebuilding and bringing what they hope will be some light to areas of Hurricane Katrina-devastated coastal Mississippi.
